The attention of Itsekiri National Youths Council Worldwide has been drawn to a purported online report accusing the council and some leaders of illegal deductions. As a council, silence means consent and or alluding to the allegation. Therefore, it is pertinent to put things in the right perspective.
It is not true that the council or any leader has authorised illegal deduction of money meant for beneficiaries. All deductions made are legally binding between the Council and the beneficiaries because all critical stakeholders were duly consulted before the agreement was reached. It is necessary to note that, the 500 amnesty slot given to Itsekiri Ethnic Nationality due to intervention of critical stakeholders and the brilliance of Hon. Daniel Reyenieju on the floor of the house, which was barely enough to satisfy everybody. However, with the new arrangements, the Amnesty proceed was able to accommodate more beneficiaries who were not able to attend the programme but get monthly stipend from the deductions made. It is only a greedy person that would kick against this noble idea to accommodate more Itsekiris.
Besides, all amnesty beneficiaries submitted a sworn affidavit during the documentation exercise to abide by the agreement reached to enable more persons to benefit from the programme. Then why the foul cry or is it too much for them to sacrifice? It should be highlighted that sponsors of this cheap/watery blackmail is not unconnected to recent agitation against the installation of the prestigious Chieftancy title on some undeserving personalities in the Kingdom
Furthermore, the internal workings of the kingdom cannot be ran on the pages of social media platforms, hence we wish to discourage people henceforth to be mindful of what they post, like, comment or share on social media platforms. In any case, such poorly articulated write ups are capable of compromising the internal security of the Kingdom knowing fully well that most of the platforms have been infiltrated by a fifth columny. In addition, we must state that the highest authority in the land is aware of all transactions regarding the Amnesty and there is no cause for alarm.
Conclusively, we want all Itsekiris across the globe to kindly disregard such poorly developed post/petition driven by greed and hatred for follow Itsekiris. The Council is committed to protecting and or defending the territorial integrity of the Kingdom and no atom of blackmail, petition shall deter us from this clarion call. For further inquiries, kindly contact our Odion Road Secretariat which is usually opened from Monday to Friday.
Thank you.
