Ijaghala community in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State recently set a record by settling internally without any form of third party interference, the bad blood that trailed the election of executives into the Ijaghala Management Committee (IMC) January this year.
As a result of the controversial election, four other contestants in the person of Victor Eyengho, Benjamin Adun, Emmanuel Ogungbemi Gaius Eyengho and Yomi Eyengho approached a State High Court, Warri to demand for the cancellation of the said election that brough in Mr. David Omatseye as Chairman.
However, elders of the community intervened in the matter and set up a Peace and Reconciliatory Committee headed by Elder Gabriel Mebaghanje (Gumtec). Other members of the committee are Austin Oboroegbeyi Esq., Pa Mac Eyeoyibo, Comrade Alex Eyengho and Mr. Andrew Edun.
At the end of the meeting of the committee, the IMC executive body was expanded to accommodate the contending party. Consquently, the harmonized executives of the IMC are: Mr. David Omatseye (Chairman), Mr. Victor Eyengho (Vice Chairman), Mr. Godwin Okoturo (Vice Chairman), Mr. Solomon Okoturo (PRO), Mr. Benjamin Adun (Assistant PRO), Mr. Bright Eweyeju (Secretary), Mr. Oti Mebaghanje (Assistant Secretary), Mr. Yomi Eyengho (Organizing Secretary), Mr. Larry Mogbeyiteren (Legal Adviser), Mr. Victor Oritsedumi (Treasurer) and Mr. Gaius Eyengho (Financial Secretary).
Meanwhile, the IMC Chairman, Mr. Omatseye and his executives have inaugurated a ad hoc committee to draft a standard constitution for Ijaghala community. Membership of the Committee are; Pa Mac Eyeoyibo (Chairman), Comrade Alex Eyengho (Secretary), Mr. Emmanuel Adun, Mr. Larry Mogbeyiteren Esq., Mr. Austin Oboroegbeyi Esq. and Ms. O. Asin. They have till September ending to submit their report to the IMC executive body.
