AN END IN SIGHT TO WARRI NORTH CHAIRMANSHIP SCUFFLE AS HON. MAKU SCALES THROUGH

Although it was difficult to swallow, hook, line and sink all the contrary information mailing around at press time, inside sources have hinted  that Hon. Maku Eyituoyo  has finally been adopted as Warri North  consensus candidate for the January Delta state LGA poll. Our sources  disclosed that it took  the intervention of Chief James Ibori who had to step in to save Dr. Uduaghan from  shame.   It was a jubilating Hon. Maku and supporters thronged the home of Chief Victor Nanna, the Olaraja of Koko community for blessing.  Yet, pundits advised that caution must be exercised as it was not over until the last days in October when all parties contesting the January LGA poll must have concluded  their primaries and have the names of party’s flag bearers submitted  to Delta election umpire; DSIEC.

It will be recalled that the Warri North political atmosphere  had been soaked in a political innuendo following the clash of interest between Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan and Hon. Michael Diden over who between Hon. Maku Eyituoyo and Hon. Solomon Mikie emerged as the  Warri North candidate for the January Delta LGA polls.  Dr. Uduaghan, an immediate ex-governor of the state was said to have weathered storms to foist the candidacy of  Hon. Maku  Eyituoyo won the party for the second time against Warri North PDP’s tradition of single term. We were reliably informed that in the history of the council area, no chairman had ever been allowed to do a two term in office as the chairman of the council.

Sources disclosed that for this and several other reasons,  Hon. Maku had never been popular among the various interests in the politics of Warri North. His crimes were listed by a party faithful to include his incurable closeness to Dr. Alex Ideh, an APC stalwart who had been on a collision course with most PDP Warri North  leaders in the council area before he finally dumped PDP for APC. Hon. Maku was also accused of buying out council vehicles in the name of  public auctioning. Sources queried the justification of auctioning council vehicles when new ones were not purchased to replace those that had been sold.
