UDUAGHAN: Ologbotsere Family Cancels 8th Anniversary Celebration of Chief Ayiri Emami’s Chieftaincy Installation

The Ologbotsere Eyinmisan Descendants of Warri Kingdom have cancelled the planned celebration of the 8th anniversary of the installation of Chief Ayirimi Emami as the Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom.

It will be recalled that Chief Emami was installed as the Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom on October 20, 2018, by the 20th Olu of Warri, His Majesty, Ogiame Ikenwoli.

The Spokesman of the Ologbotsere Eyinmisan Descendants, Comrade Alex Eyengho, in a statement made available to newsmen in Warri, Delta State, on Monday, October 19, 2026, said the decision was in honour of former two-term Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, CON, who passed on the same day at the age of 71. 3e7b

Comrade Eyengho stated that news of Dr. Uduaghan’s demise came as a rude shock to members of the revered Ologbotsere family worldwide. c3b9

While commiserating with the Uduaghan family, the Itsekiri Nation and Deltans in general over the passing of the former Commissioner for Health and Secretary to the State Government, Eyengho noted that the Ologbotsere Eyinmisan Descendants share in the grief.

He appealed for the understanding of members of the Ologbotsere family worldwide, as well as friends and associates, acknowledging that the cancellation may have disrupted the schedules and programmes of those expected to grace the ceremony.

Eyengho, on behalf of the Ologbotsere Eyinmisan Descendants worldwide, also felicitated the Oba of Benin, His Majesty, Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of his coronation.

He noted that the installation of Chief Emami as Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom and the coronation of the Benin Monarch on the same date – October 20 – speaks to the ancestral affinity between the Benin and Warri monarchies.
